Molm ♥

So ... my Mom, [or "Molm" as we all say] is on eBay. I was Googling to see if I could find one of her records. My mother was a recording artist for Warner Bros. in the late 70s and she doesn't even have a copy of her own music! I'm pretty sure that even if I recorded my own song on a TalkBoy in my bathroom that I would have stock piles of copies just to brag when I'm her age. But, she always thought it was no big deal. So, when I went searching, I found her record on eBay as well as this ...
Isn't she the cutest!? I showed this to her and she laughed. Of course, I immediately thought about the stack of these postcards that my Dad has in storage. I mean, I can copy that signature, I've seen it my whole life! Let's make some money, y'all! But seriously, I'm really lucky to be able to have parents that gave a great example of fulfilling your dreams with hard work and passion. My Mom dreamed of being a singer, so she moved to Nashville and wrote and recorded music for years. Lucky for me, another one of her dreams was to be a mother to a big family! No family is perfect, and we've been through good and bad in our relationship, but my parents are truly amazing and it's because of them that I'm able to see the importance of doing what you love, making goals for yourself and striving to meet them. ♥

Let's Get Weird

Errrrrrbody love pictures!! These are randoms that I've had stashed away for a rainy day. It isn't raining, but I'm lazy and am in need of a little visual inspiration. So I'm gonna blast Rihanna and get ready for the day ... expect a Zombee post soon; doing great things for Valentine's Day! Cheers!

Family Mission Statement

I'm taking a pretty interesting sociology class this semester. On our first day, the professor asked us to create a family mission statement. Some people did it for fun or just projected their feelings onto a family they haven't yet created, but I took it pretty seriously and came up with something that I honestly feel best describes our little family. I think this is a brilliant exercise and I'm already thankful that I have the opportunity to learn more about family dynamics in this class. I highly recommend finding your own relationship/family/work mission statement to use as a guide for success.

The Invitations

I thought I'd share these amazing invitations with y'all. They look a bit warmer here, but they're traditional black and white and they are the absolute best! I can't wait to see all the real pictures from the wedding. But, this will give you a little preview like my New Orleans iPhone pictures did.

Welcome, 2012! ♥

We had a lot of fun with our sparklers on NYE, as you can tell. The best part is how many chins I have in the background. I was so terrified I was going to burn myself up because B got those 3ft long sparklers! Haha. Anyway, I could not be more excited about the new year!! I have a few big plans and lots of mini plans that I hope to be able to bring to fruition over the next 12 months. Firstly, in our attempt to become more healthy, Brandon and I have joined a gym!! I've been a member of Anytime Fitness for years, but I have really been missing a pool to work out in, so I went shopping for a new gym and hit the jackpot. Willis Knighton Wellness Center has everything! Circuit training machines, free weights, tons of cardio machines, lap pool, steam room, whirlpool, etc. Plus, there are a dozen different classes that are available free to members as well as help from the trainers that work there. I looked into a personal trainer last year, but they wanted $50 per session and recommended 3 sessions per week ... cray!! So, needless to say, I'm pretty excited about my new workout space as well as the idea of us doing this together to improve and prolong our life together. Whoo!

School starts next week, too. I love taking classes, so I'm looking forward to this semester. I only have a couple of semesters left, so I'm pretty excited about having a degree after 10 years of on-again-off-again schooling. Jesus H. I'll try and keep HH followers updated as to how this year is going! Until then, here is some inspiration to get us [me] going ... 295 more days until Halloween!!

French Quarter Fairytale

These were all taken with my iPhone ... I wasn't interested in lugging around my big ass camera everywhere we went. I think they're pretty good and they convey that blurry romantic feel that New Orleans just oozes. I feel home when I'm there, but I know I couldn't live there for a number of reasons. Hillary & Rue are officially married!! This was a wonderful weekend full of love and magic ... a great way to start the new year. ♥
