Rainy Days
I almost never complain about the rain, but after a few days of glorious, dreary weather I actually find myself missing Hawaii! I love the ocean and in 2010 I got to see the Pacific for the very first time in the best possible way, on an island in the middle of nowhere. Have you ever lived through something and then realize that you appreciate it more after the excitement of it is all over? I guess that is the effect Hawaii had on me. I think I was so overwhelmed that I'm just now starting to realize how great it was. I know I've shared pictures before, but after my hard drive crashed and I thought I lost everything, I am so happy to see that I still have pictures of that special time on Maui. It was amazing. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to make myself a salmon bagel soon to get that warm and fuzzy, Hawaii feeling back.

Maui Amour
I'm glad I can finally post pictures I took of Kim before she walked down the beautiful, sandy aisle to marry Tyler. I thought I'd take the pre-wedding pictures in black and white to capture the mood. Kim was the most calm and collected bride ever! We had a great afternoon getting dolled up and counting down the minutes to the ceremony. My favorite part was when she was being asked a few "what ifs," she responded, "oh, I don't care ... I just want to marry Tyler today!" Precious.
It was truly the most romantic wedding I've ever been to. Mostly because I only remember the two of them; no distractions, no pressure ... just love! So amazing. There was, of course a professional photographer [and videographer] there, but I snapped some shots while Kim was getting ready and a few right before the ceremony. You can really tell how happy she was! I switched to color for the last few; they were literally taken minutes before she became Mrs. Hicks and I couldn't resist the greenery growing on the stone wall you walk through to enter the beach. We were in Maui, on Makena Cove; a tiny, secret beach just before sunset. I am so glad that Brandon and I were able to be a part of this amazing moment.

Killer dress ... killer figure to put it on, too!
This is happiness ... beautiful!
Beautiful bouquet!!
Perfect! She required no airbrushing, obviously. Not that I know how to do that ...
My dear hubby helping her up the stairs! Definitely one of my favorite shots. Cant wait to frame it!
Mr. & Mrs. Hicks!
Bye!! What a cute patoot!!

We're home!! Yay!!
I am so glad to be home! I still can't believe we were in Hawaii for that long. What an amazing trip! Here are some more pictures. I can't post any from Kim & Tyler's ceremony yet. They're not home and I don't want to show those without permission! But when they give me the go ahead, I am going to blog the hell out of that wedding because it was SO BEAUTIFUL! And definitely the most romantic wedding I've ever been to.
I'll be holed up in The Fort making candles in preparation for A Very Merry Market next week in Alexandria. So exciting! Time to chug some coffee and get moving!
Aloha!

Aloha!
Playing on the lava rocks ... totally safe.
Sunset!
A nice flash of orange and then it disappears!
Sarento's on the Beach ... We did NOT order the $3,500 bottle of wine.
Photo-ops everywhere!
This luggage was only $39 at JCPenney! No lie!
One of my favorites ... none of these pictures are edited, by the way. I couldn't believe that! I almost always have to edit!

More from Maui ...
Digging in at Maui Taco!
Mahalo means "thank you," so get ready for me to annoy everyone by saying that from now on ...
iPhone pic! I am so in love with this island! This is the view of Ma'alaea Bay.
Sharing pizza and drinks with Bunny on the lanai. Round Table in Kehei makes amazing pizza!
Brandon, getting ready to test the waters! So clear and gorgeous.
Wedding hair! I cannot wait to show pictures of the ceremony. Unbelievable!

Maui Wowie!
Here are a few shots of our trip to Hawaii so far ...

Scary!!! Ahhh!!!

This sandwich was amazing! Chicken and pesto from Boston Market. We watched Toy Story 3, it was too cute. Great plane ride.

View from the lanai! (balcony) So great. To the left, ocean. To the right, mountains!

I decided to make salmon bagels with bacon and eggs this morning.

Such a perfect morning! Brandon brought me a little pumpkin to remind me that Halloween is so close!! He is too sweet.
We are going to get snorkels and then get in the big blue Pacific! I am so ready! I'm sure I will post more mobile shots soon.
