In case you were wondering ... I am, in fact, alive. Barely! 3 days before Halloween, in an unprecedented turn of events, I became ill! I rarely get sick, besides my insane intestines which choose to hate me from time to time. But, I got ... real, real sick. So, after my illness ruined my favorite day of the year, I had a couple of nice days before I got food poisoning. Dear God. I would not wish that on my worst enemy; and I have several people that I consider my enemy [because I'm 12] but I really don't believe anyone should feel that way. It kind of feels like you're about to die until you can finally fall asleep and then your body says "JUST KIDDING! Wake up! You really are going to die! Muwahahahbarf." I'm scared to eat turkey ever again in life. I also haven't cooked anything in two weeks and I lost 11lbs this weekend [yikes]. I'm turning into 19 year old Kate. This is bad news. But rest assured, I'll return to my pleasantly plump self and begin bugging you all about my newest recipes and shoes very soon.
So, now that I've dug myself out of all of that, with the help of my darling husband and some great friends, I have now realized that Halloween is over. So, now I'm depressed. Let us hope that Thanksgiving and Christmas can cheer me up enough to forget about my horrible Halloween!

One More Week ...
... 'til Halloween!! I've nearly finalized the details for the party, I've made my lists for last minute shopping, I've filled orders and I'm about to list my little Jack-o-Lantern Zombees ... sigh. I'm kind of getting depressed knowing that it is about to be over, but I'm going to try and enjoy this week as much as possible! I'd like to say "hello" and "thank you!" to my new followers. I really appreciate your interest in my little blog & I hope I can keep things fairly interesting!

Country Living Magazine!?
I'm about to have a pee-in-my-pants dance party over the fact that: A. It is already October 19th! and 2: It finally got "cold" outside!! Yay!! A few things bum me out; like the fact that I'll miss Pumpkin Shine on Line AGAIN this year because of work, but honestly, I'm pretty happy otherwise. I have a great Halloween party planned [our 6th annual!] and I am not stressed at ALL about it! And as of Thursday, I'll be on my way to probably the biggest event that I've been able to be a part of since I started my little business.
I know!! It's bananas!! Haha. I've been keeping this a little "under wraps" since I found out I'd been selected to meet with the editors of Country Living Magazine back in August, mostly because I figured they had gotten something mixed up or someone had sent this to me as a joke [my siblings and I were pretty mean to each other growing up], but since I'll be leaving for Atlanta tomorrow, I think I can finally tell everyone! So, please wish me luck as I "pitch" my little Zombees to Country Living and hopefully I'll be selected to be featured in the magazine. This meeting is going to be a great learning experience and hopefully a launching pad! It would mean a lot for my budding business and maybe get me one step closer to having a storefront here in Shreveport! So here's hoping there is a weirdo who love zombies and hot wax on the judging panel!
To be continued ...

Which Boots? Witch Boots!
I got these black suede mid-calf boots from Victoria's Secret a few years ago. I love them so much! They're great with long skirts or cigarette pants, or witch tights, of course! The heel is pretty low, so they're great for running around all day. I rarely wear them laced all the way up, I think pulling the laces out and tying them around the ankle adds a bit of my personal style to them. Love!
19 days!! ♥
